Kathlyn Laraway is a founding partner at Solutions Based Family Law and a highly respected family law attorney known for her sharp legal mind, strategic approach, and ability to connect with clients during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
Kathlyn represents individuals in all aspects of family law—from proactive planning at the start of a relationship to high-stakes litigation involving custody, financial disputes, and complex property division. Her work is rooted in clear, consistent communication and a deep understanding of both the law and the emotional landscape her clients are navigating. She takes time to understand each client’s goals, concerns, and story, building strategies that align with their priorities.
While she always explores resolution outside of court when it is in her client’s best interest, Kathlyn’s not afraid to litigate—and she’s exceptionally skilled in the courtroom. Her clients know they have a strong, capable advocate in their corner, ready to fight for what matters most when litigation becomes necessary. She brings clarity and direction to even the most high conflict cases and is known for balancing aggressive advocacy with practical problem-solving. Kathlyn has an honest and direct approach while maintaining the ability to translate complex legal issues into a clear path forward.
Kathlyn’s areas of expertise include high conflict custody matters, complex marital estate division, child support, spousal maintenance, common law marriage, and adoption. Kathlyn also practices in the civil and juvenile courts regarding partition actions and dependency and neglect actions. Kathlyn is also an experienced mediator which gives her the versatile skills to pursue the best path for each client.
Since 2018, she has been recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star, an honor awarded by her peers and reserved for attorneys who demonstrate excellence in practice.
Outside of work, Kathlyn lives in Denver with her husband, two children, and their beloved dog. She’s an explorer at heart—whether it is adventuring around Colorado or traveling all over the world (she and her husband have visited all 50 states together!).
